Bangkok which is locally called "Krung Thep" which means the City of Angels established in 1782 by King Rama I as the capital of Siam at that time.
Bangkok has retained its traditional charm with a mixture of old cultural heritage and new modern skyscrapers, luxurious hotels, shopping centers, street shoppings, famous Thai food, restaurants, sports, entertainment, etc.
Presently, Bangkok has approximately 10 million population and it is considered one of the biggest cities in the world.
IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center is the ideal venue for Conventions, Meeting, Exhibitions and Special Events. It is the only venue in Thailand that has been purposely designed and constructed with individual facilities to cater for the different needs of clients. The Arena was the first facility to open 1998 in time to be a venue for the ASIAN Games.
In 2006, THAIFEX – World of food ASIA is moved to the new Challenger, the largest column-free exhibition hall in the world. For the 2008 event, the show will again take place in this show ground.
Impact is expanding its show grounds:
Impact exhibition center is building one massive single column free hall measuring 459 metres long by 131.2 metres wide with a ceiling height of 16 metres. That gives a floor area fo 60,220 square metres, larger than eight football fields. Flexibility is built into the design so that the hall can be divided by sound - proof walls to create three halls of 20,043 square metres. These will also be column-free.
